Important Safety Notice

Lighting installation involves electricity and, in many cases, working at height. All lighting products should be installed by a qualified local electrician in accordance with the product instructions and all applicable electrical, building, and fire-safety regulations.

This page provides general guidance only. It does not replace product-specific installation instructions or professional electrical services.

Before Installation

Before beginning installation, confirm that:

  • The product, dimensions, finish, and accessories match your order.
  • The fixture, glass, shades, and other components show no signs of shipping damage.
  • The mounting location, junction box, and ceiling or wall structure can safely support the fixture’s weight.
  • The supply voltage, wiring, bulbs, driver, and dimming system are compatible with the product.
  • There is adequate installation space and the appropriate tools and protective equipment are available.

If the product is damaged, incomplete, or different from the ordered specification, do not install it. Please contact us immediately.

Disconnect the Power

Before installing, removing, or servicing a light fixture, switch off the relevant circuit at the electrical panel or distribution board.

Turning off a wall switch alone does not guarantee that the wiring is de-energized. The installer should use suitable testing equipment to verify that no electrical current is present.

Ceiling and Wall Support

Chandeliers, large ceiling lights, and other heavy fixtures must not be supported only by decorative ceiling material, drywall, or an unrated junction box.

The installer must confirm that the ceiling or wall structure, mounting bracket, hook, fasteners, and junction box have adequate load capacity. Large or unusually heavy fixtures may require additional structural reinforcement and more than one person for safe installation.

Assembly and Handling

  • Unpack and assemble the product on a clean, protected surface.
  • Do not lift the fixture by its electrical wires, suspension cables, or decorative components.
  • Use more than one person when handling large or heavy fixtures.
  • Wear clean gloves when handling glass, shades, crystals, or finished metal surfaces.
  • Install fragile decorative components only after the main fixture is securely mounted and the electrical work is complete.
  • Do not overtighten screws or fasteners, as this can damage glass, threads, or surface finishes.

Electrical Connections

All wiring connections, grounding, and insulation work must be completed by a qualified electrician and comply with local regulations.

Do not cut, modify, or replace internal wiring, drivers, or safety components without authorization. Unauthorized modification can cause electric shock, fire, product damage, and may affect return eligibility.

Bulbs, Wattage, and Dimming

Use only the bulb type, socket type, and maximum wattage specified for the product.

Do not assume that a fixture is dimmable unless the product specifications clearly state that it supports dimming. The fixture, driver, bulb, and dimmer must all be mutually compatible.

Adjusting Suspension and Height

Disconnect the power and safely support the fixture’s weight before adjusting suspension cables, rods, or chains.

Before final tightening, the installer should confirm the fixture height, level, and even load distribution across all suspension points. Multi-light and large fixtures may require repeated adjustment to achieve proper balance.

Bathrooms and Outdoor Locations

Install a fixture in a damp, wet, or outdoor location only when its product specifications clearly state that it is suitable for that environment.

Do not judge water resistance by appearance. The installer must verify the product’s applicable protection rating and the local safety-zone requirements.

After Installation

Before restoring power, inspect all fasteners, mounting points, glass, shades, and decorative components.

If the fixture shows unusual heat, flickering, noise, a burning smell, or any other abnormal condition, switch off the power immediately and have it inspected by a qualified electrician.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Switch off the power and allow the fixture and bulbs to cool completely before cleaning or maintenance.

Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use corrosive chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, and do not allow water to enter electrical components.
