About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The spotlight heads of this fixture are made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

The 3-light (∅23.6″/60 cm) suits kitchen islands, dining tables, and corridors up to about 1.8 m wide. The 4-light (∅31.5″/80 cm) is better for larger rooms, open-plan spaces, or long dining tables where broader coverage is needed.

Is the travertine naturally black?

No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
